MAWE's President provides overall leadership of the association, represents MAWE as chief spokesperson and advocate, directs and supervises the overall affairs of the organization consultation with the Executive Board. The President guides, encourages and supports the initiatives of the Executive Board members in carrying out their individual functions.

Sara currently serves as the Director of Student Activities/Campus Center, at Emerson College in Boston where she oversees campus wide programming initiatives such as the Women's HERstory Month Planning Committee. Laura De Veau, Past President
Having served as president of MAWE for four years, Laura has assumed the role of our first "past president." The past president remains on the board for two years following the conclusion of her elected tenure. This provides an opportunity for a more seamless transition of the new president, while at the same time gives the past president an opportunity to remain on the board to give advice, guidance and historical perspective.

Laura has worked in the field of higher education administration and student affairs since 1989. She has held positions in Athletic Administration, Student Leadership, Student Activities, and Residence Life. Currently, she is serving as the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Student and Staff Development at Boston University. In addition to her commitment to student affairs, her alma mater, and her family, Laura has a consulting and training company, De Veau Training and Development.
Kristi O'Connor, Vice President
The Vice President of MAWE assists the President in working with the internal and external people involved with the association. She orients new board members, assumes any project the President may assign and takes over for the President in her absence. The Vice President serves as a member of the Nominations Committee, organizes twice-annual leadership retreats and reviews all materials intended for general distribution.

Jennie Erdle, Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees all financial transactions of the Association and collects and deposits annual dues. She prepares the annual budget, approves and pays invoices, prepares the annual tax return and provides overall financial and budgetary guidance.

Profile
Jennie is the Assistant Director of Student Activities and Leadership at Babson College. She assists in the management campus life programs, student organizations, club sports, media groups, specifically pertaining to the advisement of the Student Government Association. Also, responsible for implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program which delivers quality and diverse programming and leadership opportunities for undergraduate students. Additionally, Jennie plans multicultural programs and handles event registrations, posting policies, the management of the OCL Grant program. In her spare time Jennie enjoys exploring Boston with friends and finding new and peaceful locations to go camping around New England.

The MAWE PAL links the MAWE membership and Executive Board to the wider community of professional groups within the higher education community. Additionally, she maintains correspondence and initiates co-sponsorship of events with said agencies.

Profile
Karen started her career in higher education because she needed a place to live. She was working in Munich, Germany on a military base. It turned out that the University of Maryland Munich campus was looking for an area coordinator. She transitioned to a job with the University of Oklahoma at another military base, this time in Augsburg, Germany. As a field coordinator, she ran the ultimate one-stop center, as she handled registrations, payments, textbooks, instructor accommodations, and marketing. Upon her return to the States, she joined MAWE while doing her post-master's work at UMASS. Her unique understanding of the diversity within a college led her to a job with the Colleges of the Fenway, where she coordinated more than 15 committees. Currently, she is part of Boston University, managing several professional, certificate programs.

Jennifer Carter Battaglino, Operations Coordinator
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating publicity and marketing for events, and maintains records to assure programs are planned in a consistent manner. The position was created to assist MAWE board members and members at large with event planning. The Operations Coordinator assures all events are of high quality and that basic needs are addressed prior to the announcement of a program. Additionally, the Operations Coordinator oversees the distribution of the E-Newsletter in collaboration with the Newsletter editor and maintains the MAWE website.

Jennifer has worked in higher education for the past eight years. She currently works as a Residence Director at Boston University, overseeing a community of approximately 900 residents. Jennifer lives on campus with her family. She is an active member of NASPA and has served on the MAWE e-board for the past four years. During her two years as the Public Relations Coordinator Jennifer helped to create the online newsletter for the members of MAWE.

Vacant, Membership Account Coordinator
The prime functions of the Membership Coordinator are marketing the organization and keeping accurate membership records. Design, develop and distribute membership applications; design, publish and distribute the annual Membership Directory; distribute membership materials at conferences and meetings; respond to inquiries, send out membership information, and prepare statistical reports. The skills needed for this job are primarily organizational and interpersonal.
Shakira King , Newsletter and Public Relations Coordinator
The task of compiling and delivering current news and updates for the Association falls to the Newsletter and Public Relations Coordinator. The woman in this role composes and edits a monthly e-newsletter which in turn is sent to all current MAWE members. MAWE's e-newsletter informs the membership of upcoming Association events, current issues and trends in the higher education realm and also includes member updates and milestones.

Katie Heather, Connections Coordinator
The Connections Coordinator is responsible for the logistics of all Connections events. Offered twice in the fall and twice in the spring, these programs offer a topical conversation and opportunities for networking at various times and locations throughout the state. Connections events are geared to be casual, informative, and dynamic opportunities where members can network and learn from one another.
